Michael

With more than five decades of experience in the optical field, and has been a certified optician since 1982.

Michael began his optical career in 1972 as an apprentice in an optical laboratory in Calgary, Alberta. His dedication and technical skill quickly led to his promotion to Lab Manager, where he gained extensive experience in lens manufacturing and optical technology.

In 2012, Michael became a valued-added partner and played a pivotal part shaping the operations of Space Optical.

Now, with over 50 years of hands-on experience in the optical industry, he continues to bring invaluable knowledge, craftsmanship, and dedication to his work. Even after half a century in the profession, he still genuinely loves helping people see their best.

Nicky

Nicky opened the doors to Space Optical with her husband in 1983. After his passing, she became an unstoppable force as she continued to lead the business, with her daughter, serving their community as a true family business.

She has led the business to win over 27 readers choice awards. An achievement that no family owned optical business has been able to equal till this day. One of her life's greatest pleasures is seeing generations of families return to Space Optical year after year, decade after decade with many clients spanning three generations — a true testament of the trust and relationships she has built over the years as she continues to lead the business to this day.

Nicky

Denise

Much of her childhood was spent in the Space Optical store, where she developed an early connection to the profession and the importance of caring for customers.

She completed her opticianry education in 2002. With her lifelong experience in the family business, today she is a proud co-owner of Space Optical with her mother.

Denise's dedication to the optical profession and the clients cemented the pillars of success for the business as she offers clients a unique perspective of optical expertise, product knowledge and customer service no-one in the optical business can compete with.

Cathy

Cathy joined our office during the COVID period as a part-time receptionist, she quickly became an important part of our team. Coming from a family with a law clerk background, she brings strong organizational skills and professionalism to our office.

Over time, she discovered a natural talent for eyewear fashion. With her excellent sense of style and attention to detail, she has an incredible ability to help patients choose the frames that suit them best. Her warmth and dedication make her a very valuable member of our team.

Cathy

Eva

Eva joined Space Optical in 2018 as an Office Manager with over 30 years of office management expertise, her knowledge and experience serves as the backbone to the operations of the business.

Her friendly approach to the businesses clients ensures the quality service service everyone who walks through the doors expects to receive. Her kind and professional nature ensures a positive experience to all client questions and concerns.

Eva is known for being both helpful and informative. Her attention to detail and dedication to customer service help to make every visit to Space Optical a comfortable and positive experience.

Jr

JR, the newest member of Space Optical, possesses the qualities and temperament to uphold the company’s high service standards.

His early lab contributions have already resulted in work that seasoned opticians achieve after years of experience. Under Michael’s guidance, JR will become the benchmark that few opticians aspire to.
